Aortic Valve: Stenosis
The specimen is received fresh and consists of 3 curvilinear aortic
valve leaflet fragments that measure 1.3 cm, 2.3 , and 3.5 cm along the free edges and average 2.3 cm from free edge to base. The valve leaflets are thickened, rigid , and diffusely calcified. No vegetations are grossly noted. Representative sections are submitted in cassette A1 following decalcification.
